Taylor McNeill, the founder of Gold Coast Surf Experience has 25 years of surfing experience, competing at a national level and working in lead coaching roles at surf schools in Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

Taylor is a highly qualified surf coach, professional beach lifeguard with the Gold Coast City Council and registered primary school teacher. This particular combination (alongside 13 years of coaching experience) has shaped the foundation of our exclusive 5 star coaching service.

In early 2022 Taylor saw the need for a surf coaching establishment that can take surfers with the basic fundamentals and help accelerate their progression. Fast forward 3 years and hundreds of happy clients later, we now have 3 incredible staff members, host international surf camps, as well as run school holiday programs.

We welcome all abilities, ages and walks of life to join our surf community, let us guide you towards reaching your full potential.

  • Owner & Coach, Taylor McNeill

    Taylor has 25 years of surfing experience and travelled the world extensively surfing. Competing at a national level and working in lead coaching roles at surf schools in Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Taylor is a highly qualified surf coach, professional beach lifeguard with the Gold Coast City Council and registered primary school teacher.

  • Coach, Eddie Read

    Eddie has 25+ years of surfing experience and competed on the world tour as a professional bodyboarder. Eddies expert knowledge of the ocean has allowed him to coach and mentor surfers abroad in the UK, as well as here in Australia. Eddie is a professional beach lifeguard keeping our Gold Coast beaches safe. His experience and passion for the sport makes him a great asset to our coaching team!

  • Photographer & Social Media, Savannah Jobling

    Savannah creates content for our Gold Coast Surf Experience socials + hosts our surf photography sessions. Having grown up one the Northern NSW coastline, you can bet your bottom dollar she’s pretty handy on the waves too! Savannah is often around to film your coaching session and capture the best moments.

Gold Coast Surf Experience respects and acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we meet and conduct our business. We pay our respects to elders past and present. Gold Coast Surf Experience operates on Bundjalung nation stretching across the Gold Coast region.

Gold Coast Surf Experience operates on the Southern Gold Coast. However, we are dedicated to finding the best waves on the coast each day, sessions will move location if necessary. We will be in contact with your location 24 hours prior to commencement of the session.

Coaching Qualifications:

Our coaches have First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Blue Card, CPR and Advanced Resuscitation Award, Progression Surf Coach Award, Ocean Safety Certificate, Business Certificate and Bachelor of Teaching and Learning.

Progression Surf Coach award recognised by Surfing Queensland and Surfing Australia.
